How to reset ecu?

Guys,

Just wondering is there a quick way to reset the ECU in the third gen? also how do u pull fault codes from it?

Reset - Pull the negative cable from the battery and depress the brake pedal for 30 seconds.

Pulling codes i'm not so sure about, I think you're supposed to jump pin 10 and ground in the diagnostic box, but I was never able to make that work.

You got it right man.

Basically bridge the GND and TEN on the diagnostic box, then turn the ignition to the ON position and look at the CEL light and count how many blinks (how many slow blinks and how many fast ones).

Ok so ill try the battery thing to reset the computer, this may sound like a silly question tho......If i do that is that the equivilant of running the battery flat? becauase i have this annoying alarm system where if the battery goes flat i need some master code for it and it wont start!.....so is diconnecting the negative the same as running the battery flat>?

Yes, this will cut all power to the car. If the alarm locks itself when the battery dies, it will do the same with the negative terminal disconnected.
