how to remove rear bumper?

How do you remove the rear bumper? I bought a new underspoiler (goes around the exhaust), and I need to take the rear bumper off. I followed the service manual and removed all the nuts and bolts, but it appears that there are two plastic clips still on each side. I can't figure out how to get them off. I don't want to pull on my bumper too hard because I don't want to break it. Should I just bust out the Dremel?

how about using some pliers to pull them out instead of pulling on the actual bumper?

Pliers won't fit in the are where the clips are. Maybe some very small needle-nose, but that's about it. The clips are located at about the 1/3 and 2/3 point of where the bumper meets the side panel. To access the clips you have to pull out the whole trunk, and then stick your arm down in the recess by where the antenna mast retractor is. Its quite a pain in the butt, but then what on this car isn't?

There are a **** load of bolts (Metal and plastic) that needs to be removed. There are a few hidden ones inside the bumper which you'll have to reach in by removing the inner stuff to get more space access to.

The rear shock towers have a few bolts as well. Took like like 2hrs to get it off my first time with no help.

Good luck.

yeah, how did you remove the two clips on either side of the bumper? I can't figure out how they are supposed to release.
