How reliable are 3rd gen's?

I was wondering how offten do 3rd gen's break down if there around the 80 - 120,000 mile range. And how much does it cost to keep one maintained.

Every one on the DSM boards are telling me a RX-7 will be a much larger money pit than my DSM.

But I realy want a RX-7 they have alot more class than my 90 TSI does.. plus I am frankly geting anoied at the AWD, and wanting a RWD car again.

If you have to ask then stick with the DSM.

Seriously. I am growing tired of DSM's I love the engine but dont like the cars, I was thinking about a 2G but, like I said I want RWD and besides theres like 999999 mexicons around here with base models. I want something deferent that has class, fun to drive and grate potental. So the RX7 came to mind.

Get a second gen('86-'91) non-turbo RX7. They are (more) reliable and you will be able to learn about these cars a little more before diving into the TT's.
