how reliable is a 3rd gen!?!?!

how reliable is a 3rd gen!?!?!
hellow 3rd gen owners...
im currently a 1st gen owner, but my dream car of all cars is deff by far a 3rd gen,
and im really thinking on buying one this summer.
If i do, for the ammount of money im gana spend on one , i want a pritty damn reliable car.
So what im trying to figure out, is a 3rd gen alot more reliable then a 1st gen, as in how often you need rebuilds and such, i mean if im ganna spend 15 to 20g's on a car, to tell you the truth i dont wanna be rebuilding my engine every year to 2 years, especially when the nearest rotary technision shop is 1800kms away from me. And do they make a great everyday driver.
So can someone please give me a little heads up on what im in for, just a few brief details thats all.

These cars are 15+ years old, they are going to require a lot of attention. Expect to spend alteast a few thousand getting them up to date. Almost every fd requires a new wiring harness, new rubber parts, etc...

J/k'ing. This is what to do . . . buy a car that is near stock with a rebuilt engine and turbo's. I see them for sale all the time. Expect to pay 15k+ for it unless you get a great deal. I saw a automatic with rebuilt turbo's and engine for 12k on torquecentral.com if you wanna do the trans swap.
