How rare?
Flawless!!!!
Clean title
no damage or accidents
1995 MBM Base model (atleast i think its a base model) with less than 8,000 original miles.
Automatic
Black interior with leather seats
rear spolier delete
Sunroof delete
I looked it up and it looks to be 1 of only 500 1995 sold in the USA and 1 of only 10 sold with this combination of options.
I own the car
Just wondering how rare it is and what its worth.

Probably worth around $17-20k. Im sure the right buyer would pay more but being a auto it knocks about $7-8k off the value of the car. If it was converted to a 5 speed I imagine it would pull a little over $20k.
So this is the famed car you mentioned in that guys FS thread. Nice dude.
I agree with DJ. the fact that its an automatic really kills the price. If its not 5-speed from factory its not going to be considered a collectable FD. Especially with all the deletes.
Seriosuly cool car though. I want a 95 so bad.

Sounds like you have a base model with leather seat option.
Being auto, djseven's estimate is about right. To get some real value out of it, hold on to it for another 10 years.

Not looking to sell the car..
My reason for starting this thread is simple..
I am about to mod the **** out of it..
I started buying parts for this build before I even owned this car..
20B swap
FMIC
99Spec front end
99spec tails
manual swap
brembo BBK
19 inch wheels
Ohlins coilovers
and alot more..
All of the stock 8,000 mile drivetrain parts are coming out and will be for sale...
and alot more..
I was just feeling bad about doing all of this to this particular FD since it is all stock and such low miles... and an actual 1/10 1995...
I will start a Build thread for it soon...

Yes.. that is the idea...
Its been bugging me, and I am a bit conflicted about it... thats why I started the thread...
If the consenses is that its not real collectors status only worth 17K to 20K then I will get down and dirty with it...
All these New parts i have been collecting for years need to be put to use...and I really dont feel like sourcing another car to put together..
Time to enjoy the car...

Rolling chassis are too much work...
I am not trying to do a bunch of bodywork/interior work or fix/replace a bunch of stuff to make the car decent.. Every rolling chassis I have considered need more work then I would want to put into it...plus they are usually beat to ****...
In the long run its cheaper to start with the best/cleanest/ all original car you can find... that fits your budget..
plus this is a street car build, not a full out race car..
Lastly, I would never sell this car for anwhere near $17,000 to $20,000... maybe closer to $30,000 and thats only maybe..
I have too much money/time invested in the stuff I have been collecting for this build not to finally do it..

As a fan of the automatic cars, I would hate to see such a pristine example get modded/parted out.
As time goes on, manual transmission cars will be seen as "low end", even on a car such as the FD. Look at the list of new 'performance' cars from the likes of BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc and you will see the automatics are the preferred model. But obviously this argument falls on deaf ears to 90% of the FD community...lol!
I would think there is someone out there LOOKING for this car. Personally, I would advertise it and talk up the ADVANTAGES of the automatic (there ARE a few) and try to find that buyer.

I have a 95 I bought in 05 with 6,500 miles. It now has 13,500 miles and has been modified. I don't feel guilty at all. I'm having a blast with a new looking, fast, 95 RX7.
The least you should do is get a 5 speed put in your 95. The 20B would not be my thing though. Good Luck with the car.

I'd say go for it. I don't think autos are worth that much. Rare is also another word for not marketable or not wanted.
It will be a really nice car when you are done. A roller will cost you more to build up and "do right".

It is clear if you look at the used market for even very recent high end cars (e.g., S5 Audi S4s, E46 BMW M3s) that manuals sell for a premium.
There is nothing wrong with being an enthusiast and liking automatics - but you have to realize that you are in a very small minority, and prejudices are strong. I detest every automatic I have ever driven. Only a permanent leg injury would cause me to buy an automatic car. Perhaps in 50 years or so when prejudiced people like me die off the desirability of automatic old sports cars will increase, but I can't see it happen sooner than that.
Bingo. Who cares what it's worth? I was intent on finding a clean, basic (as far as options), low mileage car for a starting platform and landed on a '94 R2 in red (1 of 156) with 17K miles. As planned, modding the **** out of it. LS2/T56, custom suspension, wire tuck and elimination, no AC/PS, harnesses, Sparco seats, CCWs, Scoot hood, etc. My car, my way.
I understand the appeal of an auto in a certain way, as my Infiniti Q45 daily driver has one.
Not to be a dick or anything though, but collectors will never give a **** about an auto FD. I just hope that when you mod it you keep the exterior and interior very close to stock.

That is absolutely not true.
You can find an excellent condition roller for 7k now cant ya?
In this case, its a 95, even if its an auto I still think you should hold on to it. There are so few 95s out there in that condition. Dude dont mod it. I'm sure there are tons of ppl on the forum that would you trade for a pristine chassis.
rare or not, it still a car.. enjoy it, drive it. i have an 95 r2 with 34k miles. and it still just a car for you to enjoy it. ( all u have to do is take care of it, and drive it ). lol. just my 2cent

I bought my roller a 93 touring 5 speed with 63k for $4,500. With the entire drivetrain (engine was blown but that was about it).
