The seller should be as forthcoming as he/she can about the car's flaws, and if that means telling the buyer that you used the wrong hoses for a coolant line, etc. you really should say something.
That being said, and based on the posts of Rotary Experiment Seven, you and the buyer, it looks as if you've APPEARED somewhat deceitful. The reason I posted is because I do have an idea of the situation, that is if anything in this thread can be taken to be true. But I don't know anything so I'll shut up.
Anyway, your old car looks really nice with black rims. I dig the smoked lenses too. Paint does look shiny in the pics. I was never a big fan of VR, but a freshly painted one is always nice Burnout pic is cool too

This is my exact thought. I also don't know the whole story, so I can't voice anything. The points are made from both sides. Except the title issue, legally, the buyer can't say much as the car is sold as is. Yet, the seller 'might' appeared to false advertise the car's condition. Further prove will be needed as to when the 'Ghetto rigged' happened, but that might be hard to do.
I'm not picking side or fight with anyone, BTW. I'm really hoping the buyer will keep the car as, like most others said, the issues are not that big (except the title issue). I hope some of our kind members will show helping hand to the buyer and fix some of the smaller stuff for him. For free, for beer, or for sex j/k. That should help FD kid push more money toward fixing engine's oil issue by a pro (Ihor or others of his choice)
As my ex always said, there is always a way out. Hopefully, FD kid will find it with ease.

I'd like to find out what the deal is with the title, since the carfax showoff posted shows a clean one. How in the hell can dmv say it has a salvage (according to fd kid)

i tell ya what... the car does seem to look clean... however, if i did happen to buy it with those problems, it would be my fault.... BUT, if i asked you if it had a clean title and you told me it does, then i get to the DMV and it has a salvaged title... you could bet that you would either buy the car back from me for the same amount or i'll make sure the only mode of transportation you'll have is a wheel chair.. 18k is worth your legs potnah...

Also a quick point. When I bought my 1st car (1997 Acura Integra) I did a carfax and it came back clean. BUT when the title was to be transferred it came back as a REBUILT/SALVAGE TITLE and I was nearly denied the loan because the dealership neglected to mention it was a salvage title when asked about the car and any problems or weird things I noticed....
Not taking sides, just telling my story. Oh and a salvage title reduces the price by 30%

ok you want to keep talking ****. i don't have to explain **** to you or anyone else, i don't work at the DMV, I'm not the one who type in the informations on the title. And i will go down there tomorrow to make sure everything straight out. yes i did try to sell it on honda-tech for 20k when people ask for lower the price i lower to 18.5k - 19k , people will always ask to lower the price. i'm selling at that price because the money i spend on buying this car , the parts and labor fees to fixed, i have the right to sell it the price i want, and everyone that come by check out the car, i told them what is wrong with it and what just been fixed. I didn't lie about a thing. buy it or not thats their choices, I don't bullshit so they will buy the car. like "the break are new don't worry about the noise, the noise will be gone soon, is making noise is because they are new. there is A/C hook up again cause is getting hot" thats what you told me. and when i was trying to sell the car on this forum before, he posted the motor is blown. i got fool is my fault, i don't know **** about RX-7 that is my fault too, i will take it. and again i'm the one who bought the car and have to deal with all the problems. yes my mom leaned 5k to me to buy this car. you said you never ask your mom and dad for money? ok, check this out, after i took the car to ihor to check it out the first time, i find out that the break pads were use pads, and only have 2/10 left . so i called you no one answer, then i call your house, you mother answered, i talk to her every nice, inot gonna say anything about her, because she is a every nice laid. i asked but you, and i told her the problem with the break pads, cause you show me and told me, that they were new and you installed over night. she said" but i give dj money to buy those break pads, i will call dennis to get back at you." so whatever about " i paid for everything on my own. yo is pointless replying you back man, this is never gonna stop. is pointless fight with you or anyone else here. i will stop here this is my last post on this forum and in this thread. I go my way and you go you way, i never will bother you, don't bother me either, i will fix my problems. Don't want to fight with you with mouth or in person, because that is just stupid we are not kids. if you or anyone else want to keep going on and on about this **** go a head. peace out!

^^ Wow, at least you can deal with your problems without being a whiny bitch. Props to you man. Good luck with your next car. If it makes you feel any better, my friend has a clean turbo GSR swapped EG hatch that spanks me from a 30 mph roll to about 100 mph (~350 fwhp + a lot of other ****)

As with selling all used cars, one persons description of mint/very good/show car and another persons idea of what is mint/very good/show car can widely vary. After reading through all of this I dont think anyone is to blame or take full responsibility really.
Basically the car is quite heavily modified so with that often comes problems, ok the car is not mint by the sounds of it, but FD_Kid did go and view the car therefore it's "sold as seen". Unless he went to view it with his eyes closed then i'd imagine he'd have a pretty good idea of what it's like.
The claim about the salvage by Showoff does seem genuine as he's backed it up with the carfax data. Obviously there is a break down in communications somewhere, unfortunately FD_kid is now suffering the consequences.
The fact that showoff has come on this forum to pubically defend himself must count for something, after all he has sold the car now and has his money so if he did have anything to hide I wouldnt imagine he'd come on posting.
At the end of the day it just seems a very unfortunate situation and I feel sorry for both parties, but looking at the photographs of the bad area's FD_kid it's nothing that cant be fixed without a little bit of work. I've seen much worse in some of the FD's i've imported from japan, and at the end of it all your going to be left with one hell of an RX7 when it's all done to your own standard. I know you've paid alot for the car to start off with, that's why I feel that you shouldnt give up with this one.
This club is actually quite laid back and for of useful information 99% of the time, unlike some of the other ******* bitchy ****** forums on the internet..... *cough* cough* IMOC *cough* *cough*..... Let's keep this club decent guys!.....
P.S. the *cough* section was refering to the uk division..... dont want to start any international disputes.... LOL!

Burnout is a local here in Tallahassee, i have recently started talking to him on the net about my next project(he is undergoing a similar one), but have yet to meet him in person. I knew it was his car when i saw this post. At first i was kind of pissed, seeing as how i had an immage of a good guy who i will soon be working on a few cars with. That all tuned to **** when i saw this thread and assumed he was some sort of scammer for selling a car w/ a salvage title and lieing about it. He signed on AOL and i promptly Messaged him with a link. He was a little bit upset and told me he would fix it. I now have regained respect for him. idk about the break things... all seems like one giant misunderstanding in my book, no more pointing fingers.
