How much to swap to a simple single turbo?
I can appraciate the simplicity and lower engine bay temps of a single turbo. Although I probably will just stick with my properly functioning oem sequential setup, I have often wondered how much it can cost for a simple single turbo setup. I figured a modern small turbo could maybe match the stock system for spool, have no transition and have stock top end. I would really be looking to stick with a stock intercooler if possible although that probably sounds ridiculous. I do have water injection. I prefer a stock looking engine bay and Im not looking to be rebuilding my engine. The simplicity appeals to me if it can be done by piecing together with used parts reliably and inexpensively. 300hp at the crank would be more than enough for me.

You could always go non-sequential for the higher HP.
Generally when you go single turbo you have to run an after market ecu to handle the added volume of air from the larger turbo. As well as tuning for added fuel and ignition. You could use a fuel piggy back in conjunction with the stock ecu but that doesn't offer enough range of tuning to justify money spent...might as well go PFC and be done with the stock ecu.
Otherwise, Allrotor is a great seller and can set you up with probably everything you would need.
