You guys need a new ins. company. I am with Statefarm and I am 22 also but it is only $119 for full coverage. That is with a little discount for good grades in college. But all Statefarm looks at is how much the car costs if it is totalled and that is what they base it on. Makes sense to me, why pay a shitload if you total something that is only worth 13 or 14gs.

I'm also w/ statefarm. I'm 21 and pay $164 a month full coverage. I have multi-car discount and home insurance through them. That also has a 5% surcharge on an old claim on another vehicle that will soon go away *woo hoo!*. I live in AZ too... damn place is EXPENSIVE to insure cars... but I've been w/ them for a long time... back when I was 18 my truck was $330 a month to insure.

Never realised how lucky we are! I pay about $60US/month for full coverage and no age penalty, it is only based on how many years claim free. I get the max 40% reduction, but if you were 16 you would pay about 85.... not bad eh?! If you have 2 claims (your fault)the price jumps 50% more.

wow
Lookit all the 22yr olds! I'm single and 22, with Allstate and full coverage, 500 deductible, 1 ticket, about 125/mo. Seattle.
If I lived in the sticks, or was over 25, it would be close to the 97 guy... dang that's a good price.
But note that you can't start a policy with a "high perf" rated vehicle and get prices like these (I would be surprised if you could). I would bet that all of us young folk with good rates had a previous policy before we put the sports car on the policy.
Curious, why do you "need this info" ?

I'm married, 28 and I pay $43 a month full coverage with state farm. I have a clean record, no tickets and no accidents. But when I was 24 I had a Stealth TT and payed $190 a month so age, married status, and record plays a big part.

On the insurance subject.... Cheapest rates aren't necessarily the best thing. I've *never* had a problem with my insurance company - they've never screwed me (even when it was questionable as to whether or not they should pay for it) and they've always backed me, even when it wasn't their matter to deal with. I could pay 3 times as much as everyone else, and I'd still stay with them.
That being said, I pay $110/month for the 7 listed as my "Pleasure Vehicle" (because I have a daily driver).
oh, and the insurance company is USAA - fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, only people in the armed forces or their dependants are eligable to get it.

Constant threat
insurance monthly rate...
I pay $98.83 per month. I am 41. This is with a 3 car discount, house discount, and "other" vehicle (boat) discount....AND an excellent driving record...AND calling the FD a "pleasure" vehicle, driven on an occassional basis only! With a $500/$250 deductible.....
How the HELL do you youngsters get some of the rates you post?
When I was your age, I paid $900 per year on my Chevelle, and.....$1875 per year on my Triumph TR-7 for God's sake!

Yeah when you get older you need higher coverages b/c by that time most people have more to lose (lawsuit, etc.). Higher coverages constitute higher monthly payments. My 90/month is with a three car discount, premier record, been with company ever since I have been driving, and the lowest possible coverages.

$600/yr
Full Coverage $500 Deductible.......
Car is rated as a pleaseure vehicle, as I have 5 autos and only three drivers.....
93 RX-7 Full coverage
91 Miata Liability
93 Civic EX Liability
89 Bronco II Liability
01 PT Cruiser Full coverage
The Miata & RX-7 are rated as pleasure.....total ins in $2,852/yr
Monthly, that would be $237.67

There was another thread on this a while back:

Not that I blame the youngsters for getting good rates by sticking with the family policy or family agent. My dad told me if I bought a RX-7 (way back when, I was looking at, and purchased a '89 RX-7) I was on my own for car insurance. Had I stuck with the Subaru XT Turbo I had, he would have kept me on the family insurance.
If/When I have kids, I plan to do the same.
