how much did you pay?
ArinX yeah I think you can find one for 14-16k with a new motor, but it will depend on what kind of shape you want, how many miles are on the body, etc. Check out the rx7s for sale section.
I'm not even gonna write it you guys would be pissed... Lets just say I have owned 4 FD's (excluding the numerous parts cars I've bought) and I am VERY FAR from wealthy.
I gave $7,500 for my Black '93 R1 with 79K. I know the original owner and he babied the car, gave it to me with brand new tires, all fluids changed and a year left on an extended warranty. Interior and exterior are almost perfect and it runs great. Right place at the right time, ended up w/ my dream car
Good luck!

$7500! OMG I wish I could find a deal like that...
I bought the car in my sig for 13k in April 02 with 55k miles on it... I haven't modded it any more yet, haven't had anything go wrong yet *crosses fingers* and have put about 1k miles since I got it.
I bought my 93 touring auto with 90k miles on it for $5500 running and driving. Put 19s on it drove it around for a few months and Im currently dropping a monster motor in it. This is what it looked like when I bought it. http://www2.freepichosting.com/Images/421481857/12.jpg and this is what it looks like now http://www2.freepichosting.com/Images/421481857/4.jpg
Paid $17,500 last May for a 94 PEP with 41,000 miles. Car is perfect with the exception of a couple of minor paint issues. It came with a few very mice mods and I've put about $800 worth of reliability mods on so far. It's a daily driver and I've driven about 3,000 miles since May. I'm projecting my ownership costs out over the next 15 years with an average cost of $.50 per mile. I suspect that will be a record but I'm committed to doing most of the work myself. This is not a car for a middle class college kid - most of the guys here are running $2 or more per mile - if they can keep the car on the road.
Got the car from original owner who barely drove the car at all and owner was head mech at a mazda dealer in 1993 36,000 paid have original brochure of the rx7 and window sticker, new engine put in under warranty due to some unknown issue that couldnt be fixed so chasis has around 57k and engine around 25k

I paid $16.5k for my 93 VR touring auto in excellent shape. Motor had 12k on rebuild and blew at 18k. I have know invested around $10k IMO into the best reliabilty mod (check sig).
Wow, a thread from before I got my car. I paid $13.5K for my 93. Had 76K miles on body, 4K on new reman at the time, car was stock other than a downpipe. I've put 7K miles on it since then (may)
I just bought my FD a month ago for 10,500. 300 miles on motor, turbos, and clutch with a full catback. She had a massive exhaust leak but I fixed her and she's running perfectly now.
I have about $200 in her.
