How much can i sell my engine for?
Hi, i'm contemplating getting a new engine, turbo's, etc (taking the car down for awhile and saving up). How much can i sell my current one for? It runs fine but i don't have a definate mileage count on it (Pettit took a look at it and said it should last awhile, i even asked them if they should do a rebuild, Cam took a look at the odometer and said, "must be a rebuild" or something). I had a guy on the rx7forum here take a glance at the turbos, he said they look normal. Also, i want to check and see how much my automatic trans would sell for (maybe they could put it in a MVP ).
Thanks guys- Clayton T.

That's a tough one. I would say to not sell it for any less than the salvors in your area are getting for one. It seems that a 13BREW goes for anywhere from $1695 to $2495 around here.
The problem with selling it is you really can't give any sort of guarantee. The thing could blow up tomorrow or last another 50K miles....you just never know. But if someone buys it and it DOES blow nearly immediately, you are going to have a pissed off person hounding you, unless you make the deal REALLY attractive and say specifically, "this engine is sold as is with no implied warranty or guarantee."
Now, having said all that, I'll give you a grand for it!

Haha, cool, if i saved up enough i would sell it for around a grand since i can't give a guarentee on it but i'm going to try to get a little more out of it . . . i'm contemplating the LS1 swap or a whole new engine; this won't be for YEARS though. Thanks guys- Clayton T.
