How much for 94 RX-7 with 23k orignal miles?

How much would you pay for a 94 RX-7 with only 23k on it, Clean title, blue (not montego blue), no rust, spent the whole life in south, bone stock (not one single mod), with all service receipts?

Montego blue is the only stock blue. If the car has been repainted a non OEM colour I would ask questions and pay significantly less than for an original colour. If it is montego blue I would also be aware that this is the least popular FD colour. (I'm assuming it is 5 speed - if it is automatic, subtract $3-$5k from a 5 speed price.)

Assuming it is an OEM montego blue 5 speed, $20k ish on a good day. Silver or white would be quite a bit more.

It's a 5speed, i'll try to get some pix up and clear up the color confusion. Might be montego blue, reflection in light could have done the trick.

What's the driving history? Has it been driven regularly and serviced thoroughly, or did it sit for several years doing nothing?

2 years ago I would have said 20k for a 5 speed with original paint and no damage. But today it's more of a buyer's market and you may do much better than that.

No accidents, perfect paint, all black perfect interior, 5 speed=$17-22k at the moment. All depends on the buyer with the lower mileage cars, some people really take a lot of pride owning a low mileage car, others dont.

I just bought a 94 montego PEP in maryland yesterday, dingless body, bone stock, clean, turned 35k on drive home, 16.5k paid.
Is montego my favorite color? No. I chose it over a 74k mile VR with a rebuilt motor that was only 12.5k. I'll take an absolutely perfect body and paintjob over my favorite color with dings and damage. Montego isn't so bad either. I've beeen collecting pics of some members' MB's, and with the right wheels, it's a nice looking color.

MB is definitely the least favorite color. When you're looking for a low mileage FD, color is not an option. It's all about the condition of the car. Price can be all over the place depending on the seller. It could be as high as $20k. IHMO I would pay $15k.

Montego is probably the least in demand color, but in my opinion it is one of the 3 best looking colors when it is in good shape. Fds look great in all the factory colors, I can even stand CYM with a nice set of wheels

I didn't say I COULD get that. The thread is about how much WOULD YOU pay.
It's just my opinion.

Thanks seven - I actually had a similar colored MR2 turbo, aquamarine pearl. Not the teal, but a similar metallic green/blue. I hated it and really wanted white. Then I did two years worth of painstaking bodywork. I think I'll stick with Montego this time.
My first "mod" is going to be my friend hitting it with his porter cable and bucket of detailing goodies.

to bring it back on topic I had been looking for an FD in the DC/MD/VA area for a few months, around here it was 13-14 for a ton of miles, 16-18 for 50-60k miles, and 20+ for under 50k. For 23k miles I would not have been surprised to see 25-30 around here.

In the Bay Area those are typical asking prices on Autotrader or Craiglist. I know from personal experience that FDs sell for nothing like those prices.

I've never seen this disconnect between asking and selling prices for any other car.

A good example would be the following:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ice=&cardist=7

What I'd like to know is how the owner decided that a 137K FD with an automatic transmission was worth $17k ('firm').

This was my purchase which you can use as some what of a reference...

1994 MB/Tan 5sp, w/ a little over 60k original miles.
Car was completely stock except for a down pipe and boost gauge.
Car was mechanically sound.
Body was in good condition with only one minor ding to note; original paint.
Interior was also in good condition and had no excessive wear.
Car was purchased from Dublin, in Nov of '07.

Purchased price was $13,000.

A: Personally, I would pay 18-20grand for a 20-30k original mile FD that was close to stock and in good condition.
