theres a wihte fd for sale in the For sale section of this forum, "two fds for sale" it has no engine and tranny, how mcuh would it cost , to buy the engine and trnasmission, and have it installed professionally. not a rebuilt engine but a brand new one. also do they come with the turbos ?

 

well, the previous owner of my car had a mazda reman installed at a dealership, total cost came to about $4400. I don't know what places like pettit, or KD cost.

They are all rebuilt engines. As far as I know there are no new engines, the one you get form mazda, rebuilt, petit, rebuilt, pineapple, rebuilt.

I don't know how much install of the trans cost though. It can't be too much more since the engine has to be pulled out to. right?

They do not come with turbos.

 

im not sure about the rest but pineapple can build a "new" motor. all new peices. you could save a few $ by using a few used peices (e shaft oil pan intake manifold)

 

Well if the engine is missing your best bet is to go to a junk yard and try and find an fd with everthing that you need except the actual engine, mainly a harness. Then take the stuff off the engine that is salvageable and sent it to pineapple(have heard they are the best) and get them to rebuild it for you. I would also do the same for a tranny as well as they cost around 4-6k for a new one. The cost includes the 6-speed straight cut gear set you can get, the 6-speed hks sells and a regular 5-speed 7 tranny...
