How many of you guys have an oil leak?
Oil Filter Pedestal, Turbos (into intake) and maybe rear main seal? (may just be the oil running down from the pedestal)
. Motor coming out soon for rebuild so hope to get all leaks fixed then

I had 2 oil leaks; oil pan & oil filter pedestal. I paid a decent amount of $$ to get them repaired. After a few oil-free months, they are back again
I'm trying to see it as "self-changing motor oil" to make myself feel better

Reseal the oil pan and use the Staff's Auto oil pan brace. Works great, no more oil pan leaks guaranteed. You need longer 10-mm oil pan, and longer 17-mm motor mount bolts (~0.2 inches longer). The oil filter base o-ring is tough to replace. Check your oil filler neck o-ring gasket. That usually leaks if it's not seated properly (I did mine myself, so I know it's done right LOL
)
As for long drain intervals. It's not a wacky idea. I could see going up to 9000 miles before draining and refilling...assuming you're using a quality synthetic (like Mobil 1 10W30), adding 1 qt per 1000 miles, and changing the filter at least twice (@ 3000 mile intervals)

mine is leaking from the oil pan gasket, thought it was one ofthe turbos from where it was comming from then sprayed it down and looked and it seemingly was comming from the oil pan gasket, not so much money to buy an oil pan gasket but picking the engin up to get in tiny spaces above motor cradel is a diff story so I will just have someone do the work.
I knew I was in the minority!!!
It took me 3 trys to get the oil pan sealed when I rebuilt my engine 1.5 years ago.
All I can say is HONDABOND!!!
Screw that oil pan gasket, go to the honda(
) dealership and get a tube of this stuff. Once you seal the pan you must let it set for 2 days minimum.
As for the other fittings, I alwasy use new gaskets when I put those oil lines and what not when I rebuild engines.

My oil pan was leaking a few drops a week when I got the car, then it got worse. So I had it fixed.
Now it's back, and I have to park the car on a level surface to keep it from leaking. It almost pours out, it's terrible. So it has to go back to the shop.
My turbos have a slight leak, but only when the car isn't driven at least every other day.

As the motor mounts age they allow more engine movement and thus the oil pan seal breaks. The trick to fixing this is using lots of silicon around the pan and on the screws themselves. In many torque brace discussions it's argueed that a brace helps protect the motor mounts and might guard against this type of oil leak. But, unless your car is new (which it is not) you'll just have to get used to it.
