How many vacuum lines are connected to the the Pressure Regulator Control Solenoid

doing some troubleshooting..... noticed solenoid A (the Pressure Regulator Control Solenoid) as indicated in the vacuum diagram has only one vacuum line attached to it (going to pressure regulator). Are there supposed to be 2 lines? if so, what connects to the 2nd line.....also, what impact would this have on engine performance?

thanks, Dave

There is one vacuum line connected to the fuel pressure regulator. It runs from the pressure regulator solenoid, which in turn is connected to the lower intake manifold. In normal operation, the solenoid does nothing and allows the FPR to see intake manifold pressure. During hot starts, it closes so the FPR raises fuel pressure to ease hot starting and idle.

What symptoms are you experiencing? The diaphragm on my fuel pressure regulator failed, resulting in fuel pouring down through the solenoid into the intake manifold. The car was running very rich and was very difficult to hot start.

thanks Rynberg,

let me see if I understand what you are saying.... there are 2 lines connected to the solenoid...1 to the regulator and 1 to the intake...is this correct...the car has no power....it is unable to move up my driveway...I have posted another thread in the 3rd gen section that describes in more detail the background of this paticular car

thanks again Dave

That is correct. I"ll look for your other thread, too.
