49? Really? I have a 94. As far as I could guess, there is 5 here in Victoria, maybe a few more up-island. 49 for all of Canada seems very low. What is your source?

a couple years ago i had been looking into an fd and i believe zrauto here in calgary or autotrader had been posting that. in the end i gave up trying to find one in calgary in the condition i was looking for and found on from japan and ive had it for over 4 months now and its been running like a champ with virtually no issues (knock on wood)

That's cool. I found mine on autotrader.ca even though the previous owner was 10 minutes away from me.

Cheers.

damn you caught me! you are right, im too poor to drive a fd, i only sleep in it. insurance is too much, as well as gas Its hard to sleep in cuz im used to sleepin on the left hand side of the bed, but being on the right hand side is so hard! i wish i made as much money as you do!

get off your soapbox, just cuz you drive a LHD rx7 doesn't make your car any better. And poor you if you are really worried about losing the prestige of the car. You should be happy i brought over a car so i can rap it around a poll. Then you can have the parts!

and you are right.. all jdm ones are complete crap

You would think that each Mazda Dealer would have received at least one. Dealers in metropolitan areas (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver) getting more than just one. Surely there are more than 49 dealerships in Canada.

lol, my FD has Canadian markings and all that jazz. Half of the warning signs and whatnot are in French, but I never did figure out how it ended up in California.

I have heard that just under 500 were sold in Canada. They were too much money when they came out, for a car you couldn't drive in the winter up here. I think they were ~$50,000 new. No one realized their potential!

How would we find out for sure. Would Mazda Canada have records, or, perhaps the provincial motor vehicle authorities?

SuperMario, did you get your FD from Wouter in Nanaimo by chance?

Thats where i got mine anyway.

A real shiester, he told me he had the engine rebuilt just before i bought it, but i was leaking oil like a few weeks later from my seals, took it in to RX-7 Specialties and they tell me Wouter ***** with these all the time, anyway he only rebuilt about 1/3 of the engine, not the seals or rotor housings or rotors or anything important like that. So i had to rebuild the thing after only a few weeks of owning it. Pissed me off! I didn't have time to get it inspected so i guess i am partly to blame.

So the moral to my story is, if you bought it from Wouter, Good Luck!

+1 All Canadian FD here in Vancouver, blk/blk WIP, my build thread would have been started if my laptop didn't tank. Widebody and Work wheels in progress along with engine work.

I don't know how many FD's in Canada, but I was looking for over 6 months for mine.

The FD must be getting really rare. I cant seem to find one in Canada for sale. On ebay theres only like 8 for sale. I use to remember when there was like 4 pages of Fd for sale on ebay.

My second FD was Canadian. I purchased it from someone that had moved from there to Palm Beach, FL. The only difference I saw was the KN speedo and the daytime running lights. Unfortunately it's in rotary heaven.

Hey, owners of Canadian FDs...Could you please pst the first 5 letters of your VIN? This only applies to people with Canadian FDs, not people with imported FDs from anywhere else.

I'm trying to help my friend figure out where his FD came from, and I think it's Canadian.

So what you're saying is that RIV will banish the rule that would allow one the import a 93-95 lhd fd? I hope this doesn't happen. I was looking hard at rhd fd's simply because I would be able to save some money for priority mods. I'm considering looking into a fd from the non sunbelt states of america. Also, anyone who bought a fd from the states, did you have to change the units from miles to km? http://www.riv.ca/english/html/mod_i...uirements.html passenger vehicles 5th point.

Peace!!!!!!!

i own a jdm too and no problem so far... only the usual repairs as of now!

and I dont know if this is true or not... but when I paid for the plate SAAQ (Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec) the girl told me there were only 14 Canadian FD3S left in the province of Quebec, i guess this is accurate since every car on the road are entered in the database....

That will not work--first 5 are all the same.If you send me the full VIN I will check it on the Mazda Canada database and give you the history, assuming
it is a canadian car of course.

Well i was going to buy a USDM RX7 but i never could find a FD with low KM's, and i did have money for one. I bought a JDM, cause my car had 60 000km on it. So i thought the engine would have lots more life in it.

Then after i had it for 4 months, i blew a seal. lol. Now that i look at it, might have been a better idea to get a USDM with a rebuilt engine in it, i would have saved myself money.
