I beat all of you. One of our fd's is bone stock and ~170,xxx miles on the first engine. I'm shooting for 200,000 to set a record. I think it just goes to show you that a well taken care of fd is a pretty durable car in its stock form IMO

TracyRX7 06-06-04 11:12 AM

Motor in the car I now own was rebuilt at 38k miles. The chassis now has 64k on it. I bought it around 60k. Don't know why the engine went as it was the first owner (I'm the 3rd now).

derty 06-06-04 02:37 PM

1st Engine have no idea what mileage was on it...

2nd Engine; Streetport 3mmseals now with Apexi intakes,DP,Hi-Flo Cat, Apexi N1 Exhaust, Pettit ECU @ 11psi - 8,372 miles on it now and running just purrrfect. (Not daily driven, Friday + Saturday only).

rotoboy661 06-06-04 02:42 PM

Just around 80K...O-ring

t-von 06-06-04 07:26 PM

80k still running strong. :D

EVS.TurboTuner 06-06-04 08:07 PM

Looks like RX7s are fairly reliable to get to 100k miles. I'm assuming guys who blow their engines early probably race it a lot or don't have reliability mods??

Rx-7$4$me 06-07-04 10:08 AM

89k original motor still running strong

jdtanksley 06-07-04 02:44 PM

88k on stock engine, then started dumping water...now waiting on a reman.

Rx-7$4$me 06-07-04 03:09 PM

ive also got about 3 hours of track time on my motor ( road racing)

Fred Villamor 06-07-04 08:30 PM

WOWW , I must be lucky ...130,000+ on stock motor with numerous reliability mods and some not so reliable . DP , MP, CB , PFC , intake , AVC-R , WB , J&S , 550/1300cc injectors , dataloggit , non-seq conv. , full block plates , stage3 clutch , FMIC , 3row rad , type-s BOV , lightly tuned , at 11.3 lbs. of boost , pulls like a MOFO !! ... I better knock on some wood now !!

CowsniperRX7 06-13-04 01:51 PM

95k stock engine, it still ran OK, but the O-ring was leaking a little bit.

RX7 RAGE 06-13-04 03:37 PM

my original motor lasted 76k with a failed water o ring. :(

black93RX7 06-13-04 05:38 PM

92k km on org. motor
2k km on street ported and 3mm seals with T-78 and everything that goes with it

sicass7 06-13-04 07:50 PM

sorry to get off topic here..But i've owned a 92 Prelude when i was 16 and i never had problems with the engine the engine had 150k on it and still was running strong. I also owned a 2K Lude and i used to beat the shit out that car and it never gave me any problems i just go through clutches fast:D

HeatTreated 06-13-04 09:04 PM

Coolant seal gave at 30k miles on a good reman with high compression.

0 miles on the new one, but that will change.. soon

Michael Filippello 06-13-04 10:33 PM

65k on original motor - coolant seal failure.
35k on street ported 2nd motor - coolant seal failure.
putting in 3rd motor this week. Have 101,000 mile on chassis. new teflon encapsulated coolant seals. crossing fingers.

95k on close to stock motor. Apex seal gave under boost. Coolant seals were already starting to go.

CYM TKT 06-15-04 10:03 AM

68k on stock engine, 5k on crappy pineapple rebuild, now its running strong for the last 7k or so on an ASI racing rebuild.

ruben 7 06-17-04 04:36 PM

Bought mine with 140K miles. It's bone stock, and the previous owner rebuilt the turbos. It cranked when we got it, but now it won't even start. I think it's bad compression. Should I go for the rebuild or buy a completely new engine?

cloud9 06-17-04 05:51 PM

after 140K I would say new engine

thegemini 06-17-04 08:22 PM

I had a GSL-SE runing strong at 165k before some cell phone using piece of F__king garbage makes a left in front of me while im up shifting to 3 going threw a straight greenlight

tpdrx7 06-17-04 08:35 PM

54K and still spinning on stock engine.

Tomas
