Yeah, I would be interested in the numbers of Canadian FDs since I own one (94 Silver Touring Manual). I would have to think that they are more rare than US Spec FDs. Anybody have these numbers?

Wow I never realized this but there were less 93 manual silverstone base models made than 93 r1 cym. So technically my car is rarer than the cym r1. haha But I would still rather have the cym.

There has been a rise in number of FD's in my area since I got my car. When I bought mine a year and a half ago I think there were 3 others (2 red, 1 black) and now there are 7 others(4 red, 1 black, 2 montego blue) and then my silver, so there are about 8 in my area including mine.

I believe that base model CYM FD's were sold in Canada.

The 3,300 cars I was reporting included registered cars only. Unregistered cars (like track cars etc.) exist but are not in the 3,300. I suspect that once a car is converted to track use it is rarely returned to the street.

Move to either Dallas or Houston and you will see quite a few. I see on average about one a day and its usually a different one every day and not the same fd.

Japanese cars NEVER reach collector status. Witness the very rare 1966-68 Toyota 2000GT (buily in concert with Yamaha). It sells at auction between 18,500 for a #1 to 95,000 for a #2. This is outrageously low for the first Japanese sports car. 1970 Datsun 240Zs don't crack $10,000 for a #5 quality car.

Our best bet for 3rd gens is to enjoy them and use them up. If you try to save them, it is a waste of a great car.

Oh, yeah... my kick-*** CYM track beast is still for sale at $27,000.

It's possible that it had been painted, but being that this was 6-7 years ago (the car being fairly new), I doubt it.

I know there are at least a couple people on this board who say they have pearl white paint; suggesting perhaps the fore mentioned statistics are incorrect.

Chaste white has a little pearl in the paint and that is the confusion. Everyone that thinks they have a pearl white look at the paint code it will be PT=chaste white.

i haven't even been around this forum that long and i have seen enough wrecked FD topics to fill the count on both hands

I have seen about 10 FDs here in the asheville hendo area, one was a CYM that a guy had kept in storage for a few years....

It seems that there are alot of FD's in NC. Hickory I know of the 8, then those 10 in Asheville, and I went to Rotorsports the other day and they had 14 customer FD's.

I'm betting around 4,000 still left in the US of A, which is pretty cool to be able to say i have one of 4,000 of this type of car, and if i narrow to type, i have one of about 300, which is even more awesome.

How many of the first gen's were imported / built and look how cheap they are now... Don't bet on the 3'rd gen getting more valuable, all we can hope for is that it keeps dropping in price slower than it has over 10 Years... and if Mazda makes more blunders like the RX-8 then we'll be fine... god help us if they make a better RX-7
Can anybody say 3 Rotor Production 450-500 Hp Rx-7 Now that would make most '93 s A Paperwright !!!

Yeah, but we are about to extinct too. You know, not many rotary mechanic here, so we kinda stick together. That's why it sounds like a lot.

We do the same here in the states. Houston, population several million, has one rotary shop in town.

This is why local seven clubs are so important. Rotary guys, and girls, should stick together.
