How long is the throttle cable?

I took a string and put it up against where my throttle cable goes to the firewall and then measured all the way to the VERY end of the cable. It was 48".
There's only a few (maybe 3?) inches inside the firewall to the gas pedal.

Ha, I was just wondering about that too, thinking I need a Pegasus Custom Made Teflon lined Throttle Cable, why not. Mine works fine so time to change. Anyone that has it out of the car, I need 3 dimensions: total inner cable length, jacket length, and cable travel.
