how long did/is your rebuild last/lasting?

I ran a search for this and couldn't find something similar (other than "how long did your motor last" but that is not what I am looking for) so, as the title says, how many miles did your rebuilt engine last? guestimate numbers work too

I'm curious as well. I just got my new engine installed last week and I would like to know about how long it will last until I cry again.

Treat it well, change your oil every 1.5k, only use Redline Synthetic, pre-mix at every fill up.

Doing all that should get you at least.... 30k.. lol

My mechanic told me that pre-mixing is not for the FD...i just need to ensure that the omp is working well!!! i guess he was wrong!!!

i got mine this past December and got about 15k miles on it, its running well with no problems.

It's all a crap shoot. I've never heard of anyone losing an engine because they didn't change the oil or didn't use pre-mix. It's either apex seal failure due to detonation or coolant seal failure due to old age or overheating. Pre-mix is completely unnecessary, by the way, if you have a functioning omp. That's what the omp is there for!

I have about 10,000 miles on my streetport engine, everything running great, and plus I only drive it on Friday & Saturday, but other than that she is running strong.

Half or more of the people in that thread were on their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or whatever other number motor. This is like the 4th time this same thread has started. No hard feelings.

Let's put it this way. There's a reason remanufactured/rebuilt 13B REW motors only have a 12-month/12000-mile warranty...

i've found most OH/rebuit piston engines you can buy only have a 12/12 warranty-

102,543 miles and 10 years on original stock motor. Died a natural death from a worn coolant seal.

18,000 miles and 18 months on KDR streetported motor. Died prematurely from a failed apex seal in the front rotor. Failure was unceremonious and unspectacular. KDR denied any liability, and offered no warranty coverage (6 months and 6000 miles past warranty).

It's a shame really. Car was running like a top. Tuned to 16 psi on pump gas, and churned out 370 rwhp on the Mustang Dyno rollers. Sequential boost was very strong from the Jspec twins. Motor was dry--no oil or coolant leaks.

street ported rebuild w/ T-78 and 13lbs of boost with
5k km runs great, hopfully stays that way.

Hmmm. I see a pattern here. Folks running 12,15, 18 psi boost. And their engines don't last more than 15,000 miles. And then there is the mysterious, "I'm running a custom intake, downpipe, midpipe, titanium free low exhaust with stock ecu and 550 injectors and my engine blew at 1K" syndrome. And they wonder why? People, give your car a break.

Excuse me for going off topic for a second, but I'd like to get this answered but do not want to start a new post for it. Plus, it kinda fits the theme here. Anyone know the updated status of remans being produced??? I think I am seeing what SleepR1 had, natural cause of death from coolant seal failure. I believe a transplant is my winter project this year

I ran with 15 psi boost setting on the street, and 10-12 psi on the road courses. Motor was well-sorted, and fully dyno-tuned @ Rx7 Store up to 16 psi and 370 rwhp on 93 octane pump gas. There was no indication of impending failure on the track. Basically we're running on borrowed time. When your motor's time is up, it's up. FWIW, KDR's Dave Barninger thought I got a good amount of mileage considering the open track and boost pressures I run?
