how could I tell if I have a jdm or usdm engine? Is there anything external I can just look at to identify which one I have? I have 121k miles on my FD and I was told that a jdm swap was done by the owner before the one I purchased it from.

If they bought/kept the accessories (i.e. just the core wasn't replaced).

 

Seeing how you live in California it wouldnt pass emissions if it was jdm cuz it lack the egr valve on your intake.

 

Mahjik - is right,if they used just the block and installed all the US accessories then you wouldn't be able to tell.
