How I fixed my sticking/high idle problem
So for quite some time my idle would stick at around 1500 rpm if I threw the car in neutral while approaching a red light or stop sign. I could only get it to come down to 1000 by blipping the throttle, and being that my car is so loud the high idle was VERY annoying.
After fiddling with all of the throttle body idle adjustment screws til the cows came home, looking at possible tuning problems, checking the TPS etc etc......
I finally installed a brand spankin' new throttle cable, bought from Ray at Malloy Mazda for something like 50 or 60 bucks.
Problem solved

Ha, this reminds me when I did a Head job on my honda. The first time I started it up after getting the new head installed I couldnt figure out why the hell the motor kept revving way up everytime the car was started and no matter what I adjusted nothing changed. Finally noticed the throttle cable was just clamped too tight, always holding the throttle open slightly.
