How has my engine not blown yet?
So I was driving along and for a while I haven't had a boost controller hooked up because I was having 2ndary turbo problems when it was hooked up. For the past week I've been checking my peak boost and it's read 14+ on it. I cleared it, and I check it this week and it had 14.9 of boost. First of all, this cannot be good for the engine correct? (stock twins with bolt ons minus the midpipe/ecu) Second of all, should I go ahead and hook up my boost controller back even though if I do I won't have any kind of 2nd boost?
I don't know if it's my boost controller or what that is making me not getting any boost on the 2nd turbo. I took it into a rotary mechanic (Paul at Rotorsport) and he said that when he disconnected me controller, that the boost was fine so that is the reason why I have been driving around with no controller hooked up. (I have the Greddy Spec II)
I'm about to go in to get an oil change so do you guys think I should have him hook it back up and then purchase a new controller if it is the problem?

So it sounds like your 2 options are, not have a boost controller and eventually blow your engine or, have a boost controller and not have secondary boost until you get it fixed, and not blow your engine.
If your really having a hard time with this decision something is more wrong with you than your car.

Yes, you absolutely need to get a boost controller installed. 14+psi is simply waiting for that one tank of gas that isn't quite as good as the others.
If you don't want to buy a new boost controller yet, at least get them to hook the wastegate up directly so that you can run at 7-8psi.

Well I'm having him hook up my controller back up ,but I'm just asking, could it be that my controller is the one preventing me from boosting on my 2nd turbo?
I get full boost in 1st, and then about 2-3psi when 2nd turbo kicks in, as if it's leaking or something. But then when I don't have the controller hooked up, I get full boost.
Paul said it wasn't my turbos (thank god) so we'll see. In the mean time until my oil change, I'll just stay out of boost to be safe.

...first thing! ...there's a big hose that goes from the top of your intercooler to the throttle body....remove it...no sense in overboosting your motor...
...second thing...go here http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm and start reading.
