How to get ECU codes without an "Engine" light?

OK, I have a 3rd Gen, and it seems the Aussie ones do not have an engine light, so I wonder of someone know hows to setup something to read the codes.

The little black box in your compartment. You've gotta make a jumpers. Not sure exactly which little black box, but thats how it works. Ask any shop, they should know how.

your best bet is to find a shop manual. there is a way to do it hopefully without a special tester
