Background:

Missing coolant, no white smoke, no hard starting since last June, coolant buzzer going off, not pulling coolant back into the AST.

Blockweld 3 times. Seems to hold until I decided to run 15 psi on primary and 14 on secondary using datalogit with PFC.

Started getting the buzzer again and coolant not pulling back.

Solution:

Volvo S70 AST tank 1.5 qt capacity. $50.00 from dealer. The same set up as BMW, Benz, Ferrari, VW, Audi, Volvo.

True AST as the combustion gas travels thru the yellow line from the top of the filler neck into the Vovlo ttank and the air from inside the radiator percolates up from the botton of the radiator.

The cap is a 19psi and when the car is hot, you can hear it vents combustion gases but there is sufficient capacity in it that I don't have to refill it for a week at a time.

Being the cheapskate that I am, I want to see how long I can go before I'm forced to put a Malloy reman in. This thing has been running with the o-ring problem for the last year (8000 miles). So how can you say these cars are unreliable? Especially at 14 psi.
