how does the clutch work?

the clutch plate and fork and stuff sure seem alot different than the FCs that i am used to ....

on the FC it pushes the fork toward the rear of the car

but on the FD it pushes it toward the front of the car.... how does it work?

also i bought a slave master cylinder and it only has 2 bolt holes, but on the transmission, i thas 3 - whats up wiht that?
