Question How do you take care of '93 peeling interiors?

Ok, not so much the peeling itself. Nothing I can do about it, but what do you guys use when cleaning the center console, map pockets and all the other parts with that same rubbery paint?

well you could remove all the pieces and get them all painted with autobody paint... that's what i did. otherwise if you try to clean them when they're already peeling, it just makes it worse.

either that or go to your mazda dealer and get replacement pieces.

guessing they shouldnt be too expensive?

and it's usually just the part under the shifter thats worth replacing.

But if I go to a MAzda dealer, won't they give me the '94 and up style? The textured pattern doesn't go with the rest of the trimming. Do you know whether they sell just the '93 style?

Just repaint them.

I'll be doing that for a winter project:

No, you can still get the 93 versions. I actually still have the part #s a couple of the pieces. I was thinking of just replacing them also but the pieces are pretty expensive so I just had them painted. Anyway, they might just peel again... might as well paint them.

fd015521x - center panel
fd0164471d00 - switch panel

You can go to www.parts.com and input in those collision OEM part #s and they have prices. It's something like $70 a piece of the center console pieces.

Sure, you could replace them or repaint them, but what I'd do is strip the interrior and make it a race car. That's what your car is trying to tell you by peeling.
