How do you put this cooling fitting together?

Does anyone have any tips for putting this thing back together? I spent about 30 minutes trying to figure it out, but just doesn't want to clip into place.

Sorry guys, this shitty forum won't let me post the pic. It is the black plastic fitting near the driver's side firewall. There are a few black plastic pieces and two o-rings.

hey paul, dont worry about it. leave it off. its just another thing to get brittle and break in your engine bay. i and others leave it off. its just a quick connect thing that the factory does. it doesnt regulate any flow or anything. just hook up the hose and go.

I agree, just take the plastic sleeve piece off first, this will leave the steel pipe sticking out, then you can reconnect the heater hose to the pipe with a simple worm clamp. Much easier and cleaner!

Yeah, that thing is a pain in the ***! I usually have to replace the o-rings to get it back on because the original o-rings swell up or something. I have always put it back on, but I guess you could leave it off. So much for a "quick" connect huh.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll leave it off. I thought it was kind of wierd, since there is no other fitting like that on the car. And I think you are right aReX, the o-rings seem to have swollen up, and it won't go back together.
