How to disassemble shifter to replace wave washer?

Question How to disassemble shifter to replace wave washer?
I bought all new bushings and took it apart, but I can't figure out how the 'ball' on the bottom comes off so I can get to the wave washer, etc.

Do I just yank the inner shift boot off?
