How to cut down side seals to fit rotors???

Hey guys, Im rebuilding a series 8 2000 fd engine. Now do the side seals need to be cut down to suit the rotors like the 12a engine? If so what is the best way to go about this? I have searched and found nothing

Any help will be great!

Yes, a .002 clearance. Use a file and make sure that you file it down square and at the same angle the side seal meets the corner seal.

I get them close with a fine file, then use 1000 grit sand paper to finish them off.

i use a rotary tool like a dremel with a sanding bit to get close, then finish it off with sandpaper.
