how to clean laether steering wheel??

Hi I recently bought a 2002 jdm nardi rx7 steering wheel from a 2nd hand shop for a real bargain of $90.. Its fairly new but with a bit of dirty patches.. how do I clean it?? any suggestions welcome

Get leather cleaner and conditioner designed for leather seats and a couple of rags. Should clean up real easy.

tried it didnt work.. tried meguiars leather ccleaner conditioner.. any strong detergent that would not harm my leather?? thanks

I used Windex glass cleaner once when I got some oily dirt on the wheel from my hands. I sprayed it on a rag and then on to the leather. Probably a "no no" for the leather gurus out there, but it worked well and dried quickly. As soon as it was dry, I hit it with leather cream conditioner.....I think it was Mequiar's.

+1 use stuff meant for your house furniture; http://www.lexol.com/ we used this at my last job to clean 5,000 and up couches
