i thought i said this but the front bumper is the CWest type 3. The wide body like was mentioned is a custom job, its not for sale. But you can buy the front.

The car was done by Protech in Austin. The 'wide body' is basically new OEM quarter panels grafted on in the rear (but welded on for a wider stance, and much sheetmetal and bondo work hehe), and looks like the fronts were massaged. The skirts are Apexi, and looks like a lot of work went into making it fit the new shape of the lower half of the car.

I talked to Protech a little whiles back about this when I was contemplating doing the Pettit fenders, but decided the stock fenders are perfectly nice.

I love those rims, but looking at the hre site, i am slightly confused - they say for 18" rims thhey cost around $1200....is that normal? I thought that HRE's were some pf the most expensive rims about in the region of 3000 for a set...

Unless that is the price without the tires...

Please don't start telling me how much other companies charge, as i know, i was just wondering if those prices are correct, as here in the UK i paid $1400 for a really **** set of 18" MAK rims with tires.

Oh, they're correct all right [chortle]. You're gonna love this one: those prices are per rim!

Yup. With the high end wheels, you have to buy direct from the factory, and they don't come with rubber. You might want to contact ARD T2--he can get the best deals around. My Fikse's (which I bought used thank God) were $850 per front wheel and $950 per rear wheel. They're three piece and made to order. Kinesis pricing is similar to Fikse.

If you don't want to break the bank, look into SSR GT1s in 17x9 all around. You can see them on the tire rack or do a search on the forum to see pics. I was looking at them until the Fikses fell into my lap

I am willing to pay around $1800 with rubber, but they have to have a nice shiny dish and be powder coated black - basically like the ones in the picture(with some silver studs going round)...

you know of any nice ones like that?

ro_ja does some, but they are quite common now.

For $1800 with rubber you're not going to find any decent wheel. If you do, it's only gonna be like 8" wide at best, which IMO looks stupid on the car. Waaay too narrow.

He's right. Go check out the tirerack and price 17x9 SSR GT1s with 245/40 and 255/40 tires and then see how much Rishie (ard t2) can beat the price by. Those are quality rims and quality tires, and it shouldn't cost much more than 2 grand.

You know what, i would rather keep the wheels stock if it is gonna cost that much.

Now i am ******* shocked i am saying that, as i am a very firm believer that rims make a car, and that the wrong rims definately break a car.

There is not much point of spending that much on the rims, as i will be out of money for repairs, and i am gonna be parking around westwood and UCLA - a well known rich bich area, and my car will get jacked if i put something that nice on...

I would rather keep the $1800 for repairs or a power fc if the car i am looking at doesn't have one...

what are the size of the original tires?

also goodfella, what make are these rims that you are telling me about?

i dunno, i just checked them out, and i am not really liking them...

this is nice though:

18x10 = $559

how much are the tires for this? it is all strange because wheels are never listed by one, it is always packages here for a set of rims...

Yeah, I thought you'd like the flashier GT3s better. Lot more cash, though.

Keeping the stock rims is a good idea. They're very light, very strong, eight inches wide, and have alot of space between spokes to help keep the brakes cooler. Because of all these reasons you see many FDs with stock wheels still on.

The cash would benefit your car much more in the form of a power fc as well.

When I was going to be getting HRE's ... I was quoted $4500 with rubber because a good friend of mine gets everything at cost. It was going to cost $6000 just for the rims without the discount.
