Hosed again!

I believe the FD ECU is programmed to lull you into a false sense of security, then....... Wham! On to the next repair/problem/whatever. In this case, steam rising like a phantom thru my Feed CAI headlite cover. Having replaced ALL fourteen coolant hoses and every other cooling system component, I am thinking WTF can it possibly be? No apparent leaking, spurting river of liquid, so it looks like I get to play search and destroy to find the offending hose. At least its leaking out, not in (can you say coolant o-rings?). Well I have gone about a year with no major problems, so I guess it's time for my masochistic re-vaccination. Also time to stock up on the supply of appropriate four-letter-words.

Thats right in the vicinity of the upper radiator hose. I'd check that out first.

Looks like the under-hood gremlins loosened the hose clamp on the upper rad hose. Tightened it- looks good so far. Probably the easiest repair for an FD.

You know, with so many of us spending all of our time in the care and feeding of our cars, you'd think we could at least find where these under-hood gremlins hide during the day. I mean after all, there's not that much free space under the FD's hood!

Yeah- or at lest keep them away from the really expensive and hard-to-fix parts.
