hose job

hey all

here is the thing. about one year ago, a local shop did a hose job on my fd. Now they just found out they didn't give me the right hoses, they are not enough good.

They have ordered the new ones but they don't seem to be in a hurry to do the job again and they want to charge me for the labour.

What i want to know is let say i have a good mechanic friend, can i replace the hoses myself? is there only the intake plenum to get off to do this job or if it is really a pain in the ***?

thanks a lot

it is a pain in the ***, but not hard just takes time. Are you having trouble with boost? if not I wouldn't chaneg it. If you do chaneg it just follow all the guides on the net an dyou will haev no problems.

the upper intake plenum takes about 30 mins to get off, I took my alternator out too, but that is optional.

Talking

I did mine myself. It took two days. I broke one solenoid valve and it cost $50 to replace it. One check valve was bad adn I crossed to hoses so I had to have a mechanic sort it out when I was done.

I'd guess I spent close to $300 "doing it myself".

It's time consuming but not hard like pulling the turbos.
