Mr rx-7 tt 05-02-05 05:34 PM

How do you like living up there?

sonix7 05-02-05 05:46 PM

that is my favorite looking hood out! Is that the N1 hood? very nice

japspec 05-02-05 05:46 PM

I like it!!!

moktan_fdtt 05-02-05 06:03 PM

Very nice, love the look your going for. How much drop do you see in under hood temp.?

rynberg 05-02-05 06:04 PM

It's a little extreme for my tastes, but I think it would look a hell of a lot better painted.

You live in Alaska, what the hell do you need a vented hood for? :stickpoke

Nice wheels BTW...;)

twinturboteddy 05-02-05 06:04 PM

I REALLY want to say

WHAT THE GHEY!?!?!

But I have to admit, I like it. Although I'll never admit this again. EVAR

moktan_fdtt 05-02-05 06:05 PM

Love it! how much drop do u see in under hood temp?

sig425 05-02-05 06:09 PM

looks noice. Get your lip and side skirts in carbon as well and it will be sick!

Railgun 05-02-05 06:17 PM

That's the RE Amemiya AD 9 hood. I'm hopefully going to pick that up. Looking good.

Rx7pimpin 05-02-05 06:17 PM

paint it!

xstacy7 05-02-05 06:19 PM

wow that looks Awesome!!!! I bet it would look more awesome painted too...then again maybe not!!??!

SpoolinRX 05-02-05 06:21 PM

So sexy :drool1:

oneflytrini 05-02-05 06:24 PM

hotrodrx7 05-02-05 06:24 PM

Beautiful country side. Too bad it's so damn cold!

KaiFD3S 05-02-05 06:28 PM

Mr rx-7 tt, I love living up here, no traffic just easy going

moktan_fdtt, intake temps drop between 3 to 5 degrees

rynberg, Hey Tyler, I was thinking about painting it but wanted to see what it looks like with the CF, I know that I am in AK but it get's up to 80 here and it is hot, I had the hood when I lived there just never got the chance to install it

sig425, the sideskirts are in CF, I like my lip it is flexible and wont get messed up the first bump it hits

bee 05-02-05 06:47 PM

So do they really pay you a stipend to live there? Also, is that a glacier off to the right?

KaiFD3S 05-02-05 06:53 PM

Yes, it is called a PFD dividend I believe and yes that is the glacier to the right

cmartinp28 05-02-05 06:58 PM

paint your roof and apillar black... and get a cf hatch...

PANDA!!!

Xeros 05-02-05 07:13 PM

TEH SEXORZ HAX! CARBON FIBER OWNZ J@@!!!....but in all seriousness, I like it, but now I am going to have problems in choosing between that or the scoot hood.

afterburn27 05-02-05 07:21 PM

wow, your car is simply amazing. White is the only color on which I prefer unpainted CF hoods, and it looks especially good on yours with the rear wing and sideskirts. You sir, have good taste. :bigthumb:

Yeah, I was just breaking your balls. I've actually been looking at that hood to see if I could live with it and I still think it's a little too extreme for me. I'm a low key guy actually (with a RED FD?).

I do think it will look better painted though. :) Can you post some pics of the rain trays and provide some install details?

The sideskirts are carbon fiber dumbass.

DrunkenGimp 05-02-05 08:29 PM

I likes it, I likes it alot. Whered u buy the hood and for how much?

KaiFD3S 05-02-05 08:29 PM

the rain trays hits the strut tower bar and my buddy club condenser, install was fairly simple just like R&R

I might paint it later on when I get the car painted, who knows when that will be...

rotoboy661 05-02-05 08:34 PM

keep it on

poss 05-02-05 08:55 PM

I want a white FD. :(

SurroundedBySe7ens 05-02-05 09:29 PM

I love the whole CF against the white look you're going for, it looks great! Living in Alaska must be pretty cool sometimes - it's somewhere I've always wanted to check out. Good luck with the car and keep us updated!

-Adam

Chaosx1 05-02-05 09:35 PM

Awesome look! I love that hood. The fitment looks great from the pictures. I was considering getting that hood but I've chosen to get the MazdaSpeed hood.

z4csl428 05-02-05 11:14 PM

not my favorite but hey...i like it...

SpeedKing 05-02-05 11:26 PM

Another vote for paint. :bigthumb:

I know it's not the same hood, but you should get the idea. White FDs done right look SOOO clean!

7_rocket 05-02-05 11:41 PM

Nice looking car. I would paint the hood though

MR_Rick 05-03-05 12:15 AM

Hood look nice but not my cup of tea. But I love the wheels and the wing

Denno 05-03-05 12:20 AM

Pimp!
I like.

mazdaspeed00 05-03-05 12:31 AM

you need a more aggressive looking front end to match the rest of the car.

speedsilver7 05-03-05 01:55 AM

nice

ilostmypants 05-03-05 01:59 AM

Personally, I hate carbon fiber hoods. Painted would look 10 times nicer!

Krazed 05-03-05 02:05 AM

That hood is sexy, I love Carbon Fiber...but I must be honest, in my opinion they look best with Black cars or dark blue! Kinda like the carbon creations FD. But still very nicely done sir! :bigthumb:

So when you bringing that thing up to Anchorage? there's a few other FD's up here, none are mine unfortunately!

FD Rey 05-03-05 09:16 AM

That looks so nice. How often do you plan on driving the car up there? I know it snows for a good portion of the year.

Crash Test Joey 05-03-05 10:49 AM

I like the car, but I prefer the stock hood painted the same color as the car. I wouldn't change the hood unless the engine didn't fit under it.

Montego 05-03-05 11:30 AM

I like it!

Tough call on painting the hood since white FD's look best sporting the clean look. I say you cant go wrong either way

KaiFD3S 05-03-05 12:18 PM

I knew that people would say to paint it, that's what I was thinking too, but I will leave that way for now till I get the whole car painted, I still have the original paint and if I were to just paint the hood it might not macth,

FD Rey = I will be driving the car up until it starts snowing

Funster 05-03-05 12:24 PM

I got it from Chuck at www.rotaryextreme.com

mibad 05-03-05 07:33 PM

Louvers for cooling and carbon fiber for weight reduction. Perfect.

just wanted to say kai that your car is deff pimp. Im extremely glad I pursched a white FD after I saw the pics of your car.

tt2323 05-03-05 07:38 PM

I don't like the hood maybe if it was white it wouldn't stick out so much. Love the wheels !

Nathan Kwok 05-03-05 08:02 PM

Nice! The fitment looks very good (for a change). However, the body shop did a really really poor job of matching the paint with the rest of the car ;).

150kFd 05-03-05 08:14 PM

Kai, your car looks more pimped every time I see it! Definitely a 7 I'd trade mine for. Why paint it? That hood gives an agressive personality to the car. When you feel like goin into Clark Kent mode you can slap the stock hood back on.
BTW, Let me know when you'll be "visiting" us at Krispy Kremes down in the continental USA Concord,Ca -Stefan

rotaryextreme 05-03-05 08:30 PM

Your car looks so much better than before you brought it to the shop. It's one of the best looking FD's I have ever seen and worked on. :).

Hope you get tired of living in Alaska and come back to Cali soon. :bigthumb:

Chuck
