Holy crap (blew the stock elbow in half)

I blew my stock elbow in half. Damnit. It broke right where it mates with the flat piece that bolts to the throttle body. I didnt even think that could break.

I dont think so. i just put it on there snug. Basically, when it gets to the point where I actually have to put force into tightening it is when I stop.

Same thing happened to my stock one, but it didn’t leak. Just the "mounting part" broke off. Then I got another one, put it on. Musta been too tight cuz I put it on, revved the engine once and... it busted again so I just left it, I mean it didn’t leak so who cares. Anyone have a efini Y-pipe they wanna sell me?

Uh, the efini Y-pipe is way over on the other side of the engine. It's what joins the outputs of the two turbos. The elbow is what goes from the intercooler to the throttle body.

Seems to me this is a perfect excuse to purchase a "Greddy elbow" or other aluminum replacement!
