hobbie fd driving me insane
so i'm online looking for grills for my stock bumper fd. lots of stuff for the mustang, lots of stuff for... many other cars... nothing for my fd.
nothing!
now, before you ask, let me just tell ya... NO! i'm NOT planning on getting a cool aftermarket front bumper untill i can get the '99 bumper withOUT the "plate" contour in the front but made out of the abs plastic stuff they make the stock stuff out of and NOT crappy fiberglass.
so, iow, don't hold my breath, right?
okay, so i'm stuck with the 1993 look... i'm dealin' with that, i've dealt with it since i bought the car in 1995 or 1996 or whenever the hell i bought it.
but the lack of a grill.... i hate it! i've had my g/f straighten out my fmic and the oil cooler more times than she cares to think about! i hate the thought of rocks and crap hitting my fmic and oil cooler (currently trying to make it "oil coolers" if someone would sell me the r1 side with all the fixin's!)
so, here i am forced to do the job of making my own. oh my gosh...
so, there i am at 5 different auto shops looking for that APC generic grill crap. can't find it anywhere.
i'm not really too excited to find it anyway due to the fact that i'm gonna have to shape and form it to try and make it look nice. i dread it looking home-made and having to be creative. how am i gonna bend it? how will i install it if i want to put fog-lights back? how will i attach it to the bumper? drill holes and screw it in or use apoxy glue?
and all that work and time and sweat (yeah, it's vegas and i don't a/c my garage!) and what if i'm left with a home-made look!? i'm too old and tired to do the "chalk it up to learning experiences" ... i don't take out student loans anymore
so, what's the answer? i wish billet made a fancy pop-in grill. when you buy the cool after-market bumpers do they come with custom grills or do you gotta make 'em?
oh, and where to i purchase the materials to creat my frankenstien anyway? i asked 5 stores (checkers, autozone, pep-boys...etc) and they're all like "i dunno... try home depot? oh my gosh...
so hey, pm me, tell me the solution ... thanks ...
