My friend just got an FMIC installed in my Supra. The SMIC core is pretty thick. I wonder if it would work on the FD...
Would it even be worth it?

no it wouldn't be worth it. there are so many after market intercoolers out there. so, why don't you just get one built for the FD? plus i think it'll be to big to fit.
They work great for a DSM SMIC. That's about it. If you want a cheap IC get a 944 stock one.
Yeah I'd get one custom built. True u can get the core for free, but by the time u pay the money and spend the time custom mounting it and doing all the piping and making it all fit, you're well on the way to being able to get a good kit or custom IC with a bigger, more efficient core. Given the FD's record, the IC is not something I'd skimp on. Just my .02.

You can make it work, and it takes little to nothing to make it work. I had a friend that ran one for just over a year. It does help over stock... but if you want a good intercooler, get an aftermarket one... if you want something that is a little better then stock, and you are getting your friends intercooler for free.... I'd say go with it.
