The autozone puller works great IF it's relatively new and the claw ends aren't chipped/rounded off from previous abuse. I've used the autozone puller about 6 times now and it has worked great each time.

That what you used?

If I pull down the tranny, I may as well just do all the syncros, any other jobs as well?

I would replace the clutch fork as they can break over time and leave you stranded. Then the normal things like the throw out bearing, and pilot bearing + pilot bearing seal. Check the condition of your clutch line as well.
