HKS Twin Power makes buzzing noise. Bad?
Hi
just bought a used Twin Power from a forum member and after installing for the first time i hear a fairly noticeable buzzy humm coming from the TP (installed the used TP with a new PnP harness). I can hear it buzzing with the ignition turned to on with the engine not running.
The engine does run with the TP but I'm worried the TP either failing or on it's last legs.
Is this a bad sign or normal sounds from a TP?
Thx

I made a video of the Twin Power buzzing. It's not a great camera, but if you turn up your speakers the buzzing is obvious. I can hear it standing next to the car it not just up close.

Anytime electronics buzz is MOST likely a sign of something bad. Think of a ripped ignition wire. It will arch to somewhere not meant to be, and something u can even hear the buzz. Same theory, same situation.

Since it has CD "capacitive discharge" system that has to be able to be charged to a high voltage.
There is high frequency charge circuit. Maybe its transformer is vibrating due to either loosening up to its attachment point. Or maybe if insulated with a tar like substance, the heat has melted it some and it flowed to another place.
My home AC control transformer has been buzzing for years but still works.

I've noticed that a few times when turning on the ignition - turned it off, waited a few seconds, turned it back on, no more buzz.
If it does that constantly I would be a little worried about it.
