HKS titanium racing exhuast... no ecu

Well I guess the owner before me thought it would be safe to run a midpipe without an aftermarket ecu. Would my FD be safe to drive even without boosting?

Thanks!

i'd imagine so, but you'll have to baby it quite a bit to avoid problems.

Only if you have a boost gauge, and watch it. Otherwise the only way you'll know if you have overboosted is when you hit fuel cut. Just easy highway driving can get full boost easily.

And fuel cut doesn't save your engine from boost spikes, which usually come with a stock ecu boost control & full exhaust.

do you have an air/fuel gauge? I think that'd be the best way to monito if you're running lean or not.

After I put on my GReddy PE cat-back, started getting some overboost a little, and sometimes would lean out under boost. Ran totally normal unless I went WOT then would do it sometimes. You'll be fine if you don't race it hard.

IIRC, I've heard Rynberg state a few times that the stock ECU can support up to 10psi of boost. So long as you keep it under control at 10-11psi you should be OK. The problem is trying to control boost with a mid pipe (especially in cold weather).

Inappropriately supported mods of this nature is a leading cause of blown engines.

Under normal circumstances I would agree. However, if the car really does have the full HKS Ti Racing exhaust, it 4" from the DP back.

negative, the way to be sure is do as White94RX and check it with a wideband. Without boosting, you will be fine but as everyone knows it's hard to keep your right foot off the floorboard in these cars.

If you ever decide to get rid of your exhaust for something a little safer, let me know. I'd take the 4" Ti off your hands.
