i just got this old school hks rev limiter for $30 but have no idea how to install it so i wanted to ask if anyone has ever installed this rev limiter on a FD or if anyone knows where i might be able to find a wiring diagram?

Hehe, good luck! I've owned TONS of goofy aftermarket Japanese electronics, read up on tons of parts, and I've NEVER seen one of those.

Might be worth a call to HKS USA - they are really friendly and helpful on the phone. If anyone can give you an answer, they can.

It may not even be for an electronic ignition - might be for a distributor setup or the like.

The FD already has a built-in rev limiter...

People lately just seem to WANT to complicate their cars and lives for no good reasons.....is it a full moon or something?

I'd want to limit it to 3000 rpm and zero boost if there was a way just for those times when you take it to the shop and somebody you don't know is gonna drive it...

I would never take my car to a shop where I couldn't trust them to not go joy-riding. Why would a rotary specialist go joy-riding in an FD anyway? They work on them all the time!

I guess you could use it for a valet mode or something but with the PFC, the rev limiter is easily adjustable anyway.
