Hks evc-s

so i recently bought a hks evc-s and had quite a bit of trouble setting it up and getting it to work correctly. i have since figured it out and put up a thread on fdrx7.com detailing how i installed, diagnosed and fixed the problem. it was very hard to find any info on the unit as its quite new so i took it upon my self to put some info for it out there. problem was it was overboosting to 20+psi.

anyway, here's the link to the thread.

I didn't have any issues with my EVC5. It boosted quite high the first time I drove it. Just gently push it harder (Keeping a close eye on the boost gauge) and it will learn & adjust for it. When its set up it sits rock solid at the boost you set, I assume yours is similar?

no, evc-s uses a solenoid and i think the earlier ones use a stepper motor. this one doesnt just learn and adjust.
