Steady idle… I’d first check the throttle cable and linkage at the throttlebody for anything sticking.

Loping idle…first suspect is a vacuum leak somewhere…hoses, TB and manifold gaskets etc.

If you download the FSM I believe there’s a troubleshooting guide

it’s a steady idle at around 2k, the tps looks okay, looking at the tb linkage don’t see anything immediately wrong

I think BAC valve is a FC equipment term. The ISC (idle speed control) valve function is somewhat different.

Perhaps borrow an ISC from someone and see if that ISC (when plugged in) allows the revs to drop.

Inspect your ISC to see if it is sticking.

What is PFC showing for injector duty when the car is idling at 2k?

My PFC was searching between 1000-1500 for a about 20 cycles before setting down to a steady 1000.

We finally attributed it to a vacuum leak (the vacuum line to the oil injectors).

Weak coils may also have been a factor.

Once we had the UIM off, we found all the remaining vacuum lines were rotten.

If your FPR is not getting vacuum (due to cracked lines or solenoid valve malfunction) , it will shut and increase fuel pressure to the injectors.

You most likely have a vacuum leak or the throttle cable too tight.

Hmmm. At idle of 1000 rpm the reading on my Commander sits at about 5.2.

You said with the ISC unplugged idle drops.

What is the injector duty under those circumstances?

Did you check the continuity of your MAP sensor?
