HID problems in my fd..

This really isnt 3rd gen specific but i have an FD =) +points.

My headlamp on the passenger side is a dual stage HID it has the HID for the lows and a regular halogen for the highs. well only the highs work on both when i go low beam for HID passenger side is out... SO .. my question is what can i do, or how will i know if its the ballast? or the bulb?

also... does anyone know where i might be able to buy replacement parts? or do i have to buy a whole new kit? this sucks cause i just bought the kit a few months ago.. but it was from EBAY! damn me for trying to save some bucks lol..

How can you tell if it is the bulb or the ballast? How about swapping parts with the other side?

It is probably the ballast...the bulbs rarely go bad.

What brand are they? Guess you can try contacting the company, search for an actual distributor, or maybe the ebay seller can help you out.

Cheap-o, Made in China, Ebay HIDs = FTL

doesn't the halogen run off of the stock harness voltage and the hid run off the ballast. If the halogen bulb doesnt work, then I would think that either the bulb is bad or you have a problem with your stock harness. I son't think that the ballast powers up the halogen. Well, at least mine wasn't hooked up like that when I was running that combination.

I think you've mistaken what the thread starter said. He stated that the ONLY THE HIGH beams works, and those are halogens. The low bean, left side is okie but the passenger side is out.

So, like some1 stated earlier, swap the ballast from left to right, and if the problem sticks with the same side(passenger front, it is most likely something else(harness/wire problem). But if the problem follows after you have swaped the two ballast, then you've diagnosed your problem =).

Hope this helps.
