I'm having more moments with you because I'm growing tired of what I perceive as a abrasive demeanor. I see no need to tiptoe around but there is no need to constantly belittle people either, you seem to pull out the big guns anytime someone does as much as a typo. There’s an article on rotaries and catalytic converters in the current issue of Mazdasport Magazine. It’s possible to destroy a cat on a dyno, but it’s pretty obvious the cat is being cooked. If the cat sees too much fuel the washcoat, which is typically at it’s heat limit in normal WOT conditions on a rotary, will overheat and the catalyst material will burn out. This is more easily done on an NA, because turbo(s) act as a heatsink. If a rotary runs rich, it may be best to view a good high flow cat as a normal wear item.
