Hi everybody!!!
Sorry..l had to, lol...new here....
Anyway, l originally wanted to import an R33 Skyline, since last l checked, you can only import the R33's built between 96-98, but since an RX7's so much cheaper, especially coming from Japan, l think l may shoot for that one. Now, l'm 16, and looking for my first car (yes, l know l'm crazy), and l've constantly changed my mind from a Honda Civic Coupe, to a Supra, to a Skyline, a Pontiac (the hell was l thinking?!), 350Z, Infiniti G35, an old Corvette, and among others, and l think l'll stick with an RX7. l really, REALLY love imports, since l'm a tuner addict, and l really want to do something different, like put Momo steering wheel, plates, and shift *****, black rims, and get the Veilside Fortune kit, painting it blue (my favorite color)....but here's the thing....l'm 16, and my mom already thinks l'm batshit crazy for wanting so much lol, so, to people who have the kit installed and painted, can you tell me how much it cost for the installation and paint job?? Should l do it now, or wait years so that it wouldn't hurt the pocket book as much?? Should l do it at all??
Any and all help would be appriciated.........it would kick some *** driving to school in a Veilside RX7, having people not knowing what car l'm driving, and l wouldn't tell them lol......

the kit cost 11 thousand USD... the only original sheet metal on the car when done is the roof, and you need ridiculously oversized rims to fit... so unless you have an unlimited budget... bad idea...
and thats assuming you buy an FD thats already been built out to be reliable. Otherwise you may need to put in 5k just for an engine rebuild, plus everything else...
oh and you live in IN, good luck registering a car from Japan. You have no idea how much work is involved with importing a car do you? if you MUST buy an FD... dont buy one from Japan, its too much work and time and effort, just buy a USDM car and get over it.

well, l know that it takes weeks to even get the car, to change the bumpers, windshields, and speedometer to U.S. standards, and there's alotta paper work involved.....
don't think l want an RX7 anymore..........

you dont want ANYTHING from Japan... its all the same, theres **** tons of work to be done, and itll take MONTHS if not YEARS to get the car here... trust me, my buddy got himself a 1995 Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M II from Japan, it took two years before it made it to his doorstep.
even more so since you want a car that HASNT been extensively crash tested so you basicly need to pay for TWO cars so one can be tested on before the DOT will even sign off stating that the car is structurally sound for US standards.
