hi all anyone know where i can buy...
Hi all I just bought my 94 rx7 twin turbo the other day. My friend told me to take out the twin turbo because it over heats and port n polish it. is this true about the turbo and if so any ideas on what turbo i should get. also i would like to change my head lights, not to fond of the flip lights. any web sites where i can take a look at it? thank

well rotary engines run hot, full stop. Having two hot little potatoes strapped the the side of the engine right by the exhaust manifold doesnt help things, but that doesnt mean you have to remove the turbo!
Lots of people go for one large single turbo, which can get you anything upwards of 500whp, but this reduces reliability and gas mileage - and also needs lots of fancy management.
The safest solution to owning an RX7 is to take care of it right, and upgrade the stuff that matters first (i.e cooling system etc)
Do the reliability mods first (larger alloy radiator, aluminium AST etc) before going for the power mods. After that you can start to look at making it go quicker.
Of course you CAN make it quicker first, but its not recommended. Check out the FAQs in the sticky at the top of this forum for all the info you will need.
By the way, you can get lots of sleek headlight kits, again there is a list of vendors in the FAQ but for a start you can look at RX7store

welcome. the 2nd or 3rd link from the top has the FAQs with boatloads of info. check it out.
as for what your friend said, be careful who you take info from. your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. check out the links in the FAQ and you'll understand why.
good luck

I can say one thing: don't port and polish your turbos. If your friend still believes it, I have some rusty cast iron turbo housings that he can try to polish if he thinks it will prove his point.
Stick with the reliability mods. Regarding the heat produced/retained by the turbos, the best fix is a downpipe.

What about a high flow cat? I haven't heard too much about them, I know it's a power increase but would it be more reliable and help remove heat better then stock? because I have heard the stock cat is actually good all around.
