You shouldn't be rubbing the fender liners in normal driving. Please post the tire sizes you mounted.

Removing the liners will mean that your engine bay will be exposed to dirt/water/mud etc from the road surface. There is also an extremely important wiring harness that runs above the fender liner on the driver's side. This can be damaged by tire impacts if your size is way off, which it sounds like it is.

i'm running 255/18/35

it doesn't run on a constant basis only if i hit like a pothole or something, so its not a real big deal. i just didn't want it to rub ever.

Don't remove it, your engine bay will get all kinds of road gravel and grime in it. Those liners also protect the wiring harness above them. Make sure that your harness is out of the way, I've seen harnesses rubbed through causing all sorts of problems.

What rynberg said.

Are you running lowering springs? If so, that will pretty much happen even with the stock tires. As long as you are only scuffing it on bad dips, it shouldn't really be a problem.
