My window regulator (actually the motor) crapped out with the window up. I have power all the way to the plug for the regulator motor, but the motor won't roll up or down with a direct 12v jumper from the battery. So I am trying to get the motor and regulator out of the car with the window up. I managed to get the bolts out of the window and the door, but I can't get the regulator to seperate from the window. Mind you it is up. Is there a trick to get the window out with it stuck in the up position?

If you are able to get the motor off, you should be able to wind it down manually. You will obviously need to stick something in the spline (where the shaft of the motor goes) and wind it down.
