HELP--Turbo problems with prospective FD
I've been researching 3rd gens for a few months, and just sold my car. I found a silver '93 in the for sale section of this site. The engine got replaced with an Atkins Rotory engine 1500 miles ago (good engine? well built?). The turbos got replaced then too. They were used but lightly. The secondary turbo (I assume 4500 to redline) doesn't run at all. The owner thinks the prob is vaccum lines that are crossed or something with a (Syllanoid?). I know the turbo setup is around $2.5k to replace, and I don't want to buy the car without diagnosing the problem. Do any of you know of anything else it could be, and how much it would cost to repair? Also, is any additional stress being placed on the other turbo being run alone? I'd appreciate any help. THANKS,

The primary turbo will normally go out before the secondary so it's probably the control system (vacuum/solenoid/actuator). Atkins rotary has a good reputation. I'd consider it, but use the boost problem to negotiate the price.
